    Although Bilbao is home to many of the most important museums, there are also numerous museums and interpretation centres of great interest that are related to, and located in rural areas.

    Ethnographic or historical museums such as The Gernika Peace Museum or with an industrial past such as La Encartada, a former beret factory in Balmaseda, or museums related to the sea such as the Fisherman's Museum at Bermeo or those that are really part of our region such as the Txakolingunea in Bakio dedicated to Txakoli.

    These are all part of a network of museums that will help you to learn a little more about our history and our way of being.

    When the countryside celebrates.

    These are the moments we love to experience and later share. These are often traditional village festivals held in honour of patron saints, where prayers mingle with music, rural sports and age-old customs.

    Equally enjoyable are the agricultural and livestock fairs, as well as the food and craft markets, all of which showcase the rich variety of local, zero-kilometre produce.

    Coastal areas also have their own traditions, celebrated through distinctive folklore and thrilling competitions such as trainera rowing races.

    Simply weave these events into your travel plans and add that special something to your holiday that makes it truly unforgettable.
