La Encartada Fabrika-Museoa
La Encartada Fabrika-Museoa is a nineteenth-century textile factory that dedicated its activity to the production of wool knitwear and has preserved its image and technological equipment intact. La Encartada S.A. was founded in 1892 on the initiative of an Indiano from the town, and was active for exactly 100 years. Around the factory a small working-class neighborhood developed with houses for the workers, a chapel-school, the director's house (disappeared), etc.
Since 2007 La Encartada Fabrika-Museoa has been an industrial museum. One of the great values of La Encartada Fabrika-Museoa is its exceptional collection of machinery, mostly English, from the late nineteenth century and early years of the twentieth century. It maintains each and every one of the elements of the production process, from the reception of the raw material raw material to the packaging and dispatch process. This technical integrity and its excellent state of conservation make La Encartada Fabrika-Museoa a unique specimen of its kind that can be visited.
