Memorial Museum of Iron belt
Go back to Memorial Museum of Iron Belt
Description
Located just a few minutes from the legendary defensive line erected by the Government of the Basque Country in 1936-1937, the Iron Belt Memorial uses clear and modern scenography to explain how and why it was built, the characteristics of its fortifications and its conquest by Franco’s troops: 48 hours of intense fighting that decided the battle for Bilbao.
The Memorial Museum of Iron belt is housed in a contemporary museum building integrated into the urban environment. The visit takes place on a single floor through interior exhibition spaces, with a museography based on informational panels, graphic elements and interpretive resources. Nevertheless, visitors are advised, according to their specific accessibility needs, to contact the museum in advance to obtain information about access conditions, available routes and the support services provided during the visit.
