Gernika Peace Museum

Description

The Gernika Peace Museum is located in a very central area of the city, in Plaza de los Fueros, opposite the Town Hall, next to the Culture House and just a few metres from the Tourist Office and the Church of Santa María. It is also close to the Casa de Juntas, the Euskal Herria Museum and the Park of the Peoples of Europe, making it part of the historical and cultural heart of Gernika-Lumo. In addition to its privileged location, the museum offers adapted access, and its interior spaces are organised on different levels connected by an elevator, allowing visitors to move comfortably through its rooms. These features, along with the clarity of the exhibition route and visitor services, make the museum a highly recommended space integrated into the town’s cultural and urban itinerary.

It has an accessibility diagnosis, which includes detailed recommendations to improve universal accessibility. The team progressively implements improvements through a constantly updated plan, advancing every year to offer an increasingly inclusive experience for all visitors.
