Speleology in the Lamiñetako Cave System Level II - Intermediate

The most complete cave system on the Biscayan coast

Inguru Abentura

Description of the activity/company

The Lamiñetako system, or Lamiak Cave, offers a roughly four-hour traverse through a wide variety of different areas.

Wearing harnesses and following the active riverbed to its waterfall, we’ll continue along ropes towards the fossil galleries, where crawling, climbing and downclimbing will take us through a labyrinth of chambers featuring beautiful and unique formations.

To take into account

Which cave should you choose?

At Inguru Abentura we have caves for all levels. For beginners, we recommend the Marko Cave. If you already have experience and don´t mind getting muddy, the Lamiak or Maru Caves are ideal. And for an adventure with ropes and harnesses, the Jentilzubi Cave combines mythology and sport.

Who can go caving?

Almost anyone can do it, although it is not recommended for those with claustrophobia, as some areas require crawling or squeezing through narrow passages.

Minimum age

It depends on the cave, but it is usually between 8 and 14 years old, always with adult accompaniment or permission. For families, a simple option is the Iguaran Cave.
