Caving in Abaro-Jentilzubi

Underground traverse

Inguru Abentura

Description of the activity/company

In the Indusi karst area, we’ll enjoy a comprehensive activity, with a comfortable 20-minute approach walk to the cave entrance, passing through other caves and stunning natural spots.

After passing through the Jentilzubi arch, we will see Axlor Cave and, a little further on, we’ll cross Baltzola Cave, which will be the prelude to our activity.

It’s a three-hour traverse combining canyoning and caving, with two abseils, one aerial, and several handlines until we reach the horizontal galleries, where the great Jentilzubi canyon appears, one of the largest and best-formed in Urkiola Natural Park.

To finish, we’ll make our way through narrow passages and downclimbs until we emerge from Jentilzubi Cave, very close to the arch, where our vehicles will be just a few minutes away.

To take into account

Which cave should you choose?

At Inguru Abentura we have caves for all levels. For beginners, we recommend the Marko Cave. If you already have experience and don´t mind getting muddy, the Lamiak or Maru Caves are ideal. And for an adventure with ropes and harnesses, the Jentilzubi Cave combines mythology and sport.

Who can go caving?

Almost anyone can do it, although it is not recommended for those with claustrophobia, as some areas require crawling or squeezing through narrow passages.

Minimum age

It depends on the cave, but it is usually between 8 and 14 years old, always with adult accompaniment or permission. For families, a simple option is the Iguaran Cave.

The activity includes:

  • Technical equipment for the group.
