Rialia - Industry Museum

Description

The estuary was Portugalete’s contribution to the industrialisation process of the region. In this context, Rialia – Museum of Industry is conceived as a historical and artistic centre aimed at recovering and disseminating the remains of our industrial past.

The museum occupies a building whose construction began in 1993. After undergoing several phases and projects, it was inaugurated on 31 January 2006. Today, it houses a museum and cultural facility that aspires to become a benchmark for the region and the Left Bank.

The museum allows visitors to explore the exhibition independently thanks to a system of information panels, audiovisual resources and QR codes distributed throughout the exhibition route, facilitating orientation and content tracking. The visitor experience incorporates visual, auditory, olfactory and tactile stimuli, encouraging a multisensory approach. Guided tours adapted to different audiences are also available in several languages. For visitors with specific accessibility needs, it is recommended to contact the museum in advance in order to confirm visiting conditions and the support available.
