Description
San Mamés, chosen as one of the venues for Euro 2021, is considered one of the 30 stadiums with the best atmospheres in the world according to France Football.
The stadium has won several international awards including World's Best Sports Building at the 2015 World Architecture Festival, Best Stadium of the Year at the 2017 World Football Summit and the highest distinction in the sports and recreational facilities category at the 2020 World Design Awards.
The museum exhibits the jewels of its valuable collection linked to its hundred year old history. More than 1000 pieces and 900 videos selected from the museum’s archive are presented in a museum tour that picks apart the history of Athletic Club and highlights a collective legacy.
The Athletic Club Museum (AC Museoa) is located within San Mamés Stadium, with access between gates 19 and 20. Access from outside is through a swing door, and the interior routes are spacious and accessible. The museum is equipped with lifts and ramps that allow movement between the different areas. There are adapted toilets for people with reduced mobility, with washbasins at a fixed height of approximately 1 metre (not adjustable). The conference room corresponds to the stadium’s press room. The estimated duration of the visit is approximately 90 minutes. Visitors are advised to contact the museum in advance to confirm accessibility conditions and available support according to specific needs.
