Hiking in Urkiola - The Little Basque Alps
Inguru Abentura
Description of the activity/company
The route through the forests and meadows of Urkiola offers stunning views and a wide range of attractions. You can enhance your experience by following the Seven Crosses trail or visiting the famous meteorite located next to the Sanctuary.
We’ll take a gentle hike through Urkiola Natural Park, enjoying the surroundings and its stories. It’s just over 8 km with an elevation gain of around 500 m.
We’ll head up towards Urkolamendi, crossing the meadows of Pol-Pol to Asuntze, before reaching the Larrano refuge and the Santa Bárbara chapel. A beautiful route that never fails to surprise.
It’s important to wear suitable clothing and footwear, bring food and drink to keep your energy levels up, and we recommend bringing a change of clothes for after the activity.
To take into account
Which hike do we recommend?
The guides at Inguru Abentura are in no doubt: the most spectacular route is in the heart of the Basque Country, in Urkiola Natural Park, known as the Little Basque Alps.
If you’re looking for a tougher challenge, the circular route through Gorbea Natural Park is the best choice.
If you already have a route in mind and need technical support, we’d be delighted to explore new places with you.
Who can go hiking?
Anyone can take part in hiking. In Entzia there are short routes ideal for beginners, while in Urbasa there are longer routes. The most important thing is to know your fitness level and start with easy options if you’re not used to being physically active.
What does the hiking activity include?
Shared technical equipment (rucksack, first-aid kit, emergency phone, etc.)
Gida titulatu eta espezializatua
Liability and accident assistance insurance.
VAT included
