We have made a list with some of the most special ways of visiting Bilbao and getting to know every corner

1. Watch the city unfold around you on our Bilbao City View sightseeing  bus

Enjoying a panoramic view while discovering Bilbao, its streets, buildings and sky is now possible thanks to Bilbao City View. The official Bilbao tourist sightseeing bus offers a route with 11 stops at the most iconic sights and help you to discover the city in a comfortable and dynamic way. During the following 24 hours after purchasing the ticket, you will be able to hop-on hop-off as much as you like. The audio guides are in 8 languages (Basque, Spanish, Galician, Catalan, English, German, French and Italian) and is, without doubt, a great choice for those who are short on time. Service is offered all year round!

2. Sailors, it's time to cast off!

Nervión River is both Bilbao's main artery and the main scene of the town's conversion. Thanks to Bilboats and El Bote Tours, you will be able to visit the Estuary and the heart of our industrial past, the old shipyards (where the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Euskalduna are currently located), the Olabeaga workshops and the Blast Furnaces of Bizkaia.  In its last part, just before it flows into the Bay of Biscay, you will pass under the Bizkaia Bridge, the oldest bridge-transporter in the world, our particular triumphal arch. Today, the estuary offers great possibilities for leisure, activities and water sports such as kayaking, canoeing or Stand Up Paddle.

 3. Bilbao, a great pedestrian-friendly city

There is no better way to discover a city, its soul and its heartbeat than to be guided by our traveler's instinct. An instinct that will help us to get lost in the narrow and charming streets of the Old Town, along the Paseo del Arenal, along the Gran Vía and many other unique corners. There is nothing better than a walk to get to know the daily life of a town. Bilbao has many pedestrian areas, parks and squares that you should discover. Don't miss out the walking tours of Bilbao Tourism to know the Old Quarters and the Ensanche with the best experts!

4.  Riding on two wheels!

In Bilbao Bizkaia we believe in the use of the bicycle as a means of transport. Hence, we have routes for all the ages and levels of demand. Moving around Bilbao by bike is a fun, fast and healthy option. 100% recommended, particularly,  during the spring and summer season. During your walk along the Rover, don't forget to stop at some of the landmarks such as the Arriaga Theatre, the Guggenheim Museum , the Euskalduna Bilbao or the Itsasmuseum

5. Tour for the most demanding palates

Bilbao Bizkaia is a small but really world-class temple of gastronomy. Tasting new foods and authentic dishes is an important part of the journey. In Bilbao, gastronomy is present everywhere and 24 hours. Therefore,  a gastrotour is a wonderful idea to explore the city - and a treat for the palate, of course!

A cooking class at the highest level or Txakoli tasting are other culinary experiences in demand.

6. From the air

The most daring visitors should not miss the chance to fly over Bizkaia in a light aircraft and get some unusual and unique views from the air. You will discover the peace of the picturesque villages that lie between our mountains and the wild Cantabrian seahttps://www.visitbiscay.eus/en/seaside. Take-offs are from Loiu airport.

An invitation to admire a land full of contrasts from the air!

7. The most ecological option, of unlimited use

In Bilbao Bizkaia we encourage all tourists to leave their car and use public transport. Travelling around Bilbao Bizkaia got easier than ever with the Bilbao Bizkaia Card. Thanks to this card, you can use public transport throughout the Territory without any restrictions (24, 48 or 72 hours, depending on the card), visit all the places of tourist interest, visit the museums without queues or delays, carry out some activities and guided tours free of charge and enjoy discounts from associated establishments and companies.
